Trees with glabrous branchlets.
Leaves chartaceous, persistent, elliptic to oblong, 4–6.5 cm long, 1.5–3 cm wide, obtuse at apex, cuneate at base, margins entire, glabrous on both surfaces, with 6–8 arcuate inconspicuous lateral veins; petioles 3–4 mm long, scabrid.
Male flowers 3–5 in cymes, with short glabrous peduncles; calyx glabrous, 2 mm long, deeply 4-lobed, lobes ovate, minutely ciliate outside; corolla glabrous, 4-lobed, lobes reflexed; stamens 12 in 2 series, anthers sagittate, filaments glabrous.
Fruit globose, ca. 1.5 cm across, glabrous; seeds fuscate, compressed, ca. 4 mm long and 4 mm across, persistent calyx lobes ovate.
